The strength of game development and film production in turn has prompted fresh interest in the relatively new careers of game development, 3D animation and visual effects, according to Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) CEO, Ian Gibson, "Enrolments are up across all our campuses, particularly in Sydney" he said. Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) is a specialist education provider who has been fueling the growth of the games, film and digital content industries since 1996. AIE Sydney Head of School, Neil Boyd commented that "interest continues to grow, not only from school leavers but professionals with complementary skills such as architects, designers and graphics artists who want to transition into games or film." Australia continues to be recognised as a high-quality yet relatively inexpensive alternative production hub for games, 3D animation and visual effects. Sydney really is the place to be if you’re a 3D animator. Animal Logic in Fox Studios is employing hundreds of 3D artists on its upcoming 3D animated blockbuster "Guardians of Ga’Hoole" and Dr. D Studios in Potts Point ramping up production with George Miller’s sequel to Happy Feet. Team Bondi in Ultimo are nearing the end of production on what is sure to be one of the biggest and impressive PS3 games to ever be produced in Australia. Bigworld, co-sited with AIE, continue to support game developers world-wide with their leading Massively Multiplayer Online Game Middleware.
