 University of Wollongong 'So you think you can Engineer?' is a summit for young women interested in a career in Engineering Participants will be exposed to a range of engineering disciplines including Environmental, Civil, Mining, Mechatronics, Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering. You will gain exposure to world-class engineering facilities at the University of Wollongong and visit local engineering industry sites. The Summit is also a chance to meet industry leaders, academics and other women with similar interests from across NSW and ACT. WHO SHOULD ATTEND   Australian College of Sport & Fitness Scholarship Program The Australian College of Sport & Fitness Scholarship Program aims to help 40 young Australian school leavers to start their career in the fitness industry. The College is looking for young, motivated Australians who are determined to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of all Australians. What Scholarships are available? 1 of 5 Complete Fitness scholarships (Valued at over $3,800 each) This scholarship entitles the successful applicant to a fully paid and fully inclusive Ultimate Fitness Trainer program that includes the nationally recognised fitness qualifications; the Certificate III in Fitness (SRF30206) and a Certificate IV in Fitness (SRF40206). 1 of 35 Equipment Scholarships (Valued at over $1,000 each) This scholarship entitles the successful applicant to training and education equipment to support and enhance their fitness education. The package, worth over $1,000, contains fitness equipment, fitness textbooks and learning materials. The recently refurbished facilities include three state of the art Macintosh computer labs, a Blue Screen video studio and an animation studio. At the CDMD we teach the creative application of computer imaging in research and production covering a broad range of Digital Media and Graphic Design vocations. There are two strands of study: Screen and Media covers Animation and short Film and Video production, while Graphic Design covers Publication and Web design. Each strand provides the option of three years full-time study, culminating in an Advanced Diploma. Quantity surveying cadetships usually include: • One or two days away from work a week while the cadet attends classes at an AIQS accredited university course. Some employers might allow similiar time for attending AIQS approved techician level courses at TAFE; and • The cadet working in the employer’s office and on-site for the balance of a full-time workload, including receiving valuable on-the-job training that complements their studies. Cadetships usually continue until sucessful completion of the course, which is generally 3 or 4 years. Students who have completed any one of ten relevant diplomas from the national Community Services Training Package will be eligible for the articulation program, allowing students to complete the degree in as little as one year.
