Senior Ag Camp introduces students to the various disciplines taught in the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. It includes activities related to agricultural and horticultural science, land and water science, and agricultural and resource economics. Senior Ag Camp aims to provide an opportunity for students to discover the very broad and exciting range of studies and careers associated with Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. The Macquarie Non-award program allows students to study individual units (subjects) without the restriction of a degree. If you are looking to study for general interest, professional purposes, or to gain entry to a degree program through an alternative pathway, then the Macquarie Non-award program is for you!

The Non-award program is suitable for students looking for an alternative pathway into a Bachelor degree program.

Careers in Sport and Event Management in Sport

at Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney

Careers in Sport workshop – Thursday 26th November

This interactive day will start by looking at the range of sporting careers available. Guest speakers from a variety of sports will then add their ‘real life’ experiences of working in sport. Students will leave with a wider insight into the range of careers in the sports world.

Event Management in Sport – Tuesday 10th November

This interactive workshop will get the students to examine the skills needed to run a sports event using practical examples from around the Olympic site. Using current Event Managers, students will be able to help out with the design of real events such as the Medibank Tennis Tournament and concerts at ACER arena. Depending on availability we will be able to go behind the scenes at some of the venues.

12.30 – 1pm Lunch – please bring your own or buy in the Park

UTS Scholarships

In 2010, UTS will be offering undergraduate students 10 Vice-Chancellor Scholarships for the first time. Each scholarship is valued at $12,500 a year for the duration of your course, subject to meeting ongoing eligibility criteria. In addition the Faculty of Business will offer 3 Dean's Outstanding Achievement Scholarships to the value of $10,000 per annum to undergraduate students.

Vice-Chancellor's Outstanding Achievement Scholarships - $12,500 per annum
These scholarships are offered to our academic elite. Up to five scholarships will be awarded to eligible students in 2010. Eligibility is dependent on the 2009 HSC or International Baccalaureate students achieving an ATAR score of 99.90 or above. Students are required to submit an application to the UTS Scholarships Office on or before 1 December, 2009. Successful applicants will be contacted via email on 18 December, 2009 to be offered a conditional scholarships that must be accepted on or before 4 January, 2010.

Vice-Chancellor's Merit Scholarships - $12,500 per annum
The Vice-Chancellor's Merit Scholarship is awarded to students demonstrating academic excellence and financial need. Up to five scholarships will be awarded to eligible students in 2010. Recipients must have an ATAR of 90.00 or above and be able to demonstrate financial disadvantage by applying through UAC for an Equity Scholarship or the Educational Access Scheme. Successful applicants will be contacted via email on 18 December, 2009 and offered a conditional scholarships offer that must be accepted on or before 4 January, 2010.

Faculty of Business - Dean's Outstanding Achievement Scholarships - $10,000 per annum
The Dean's Outstanding Achievement Scholarship is awarded to students wishing to undertake undergraduate studies within the Business Faculty. Up to three scholarships will be awarded to eligible students in 2010. Applicants must hold an ATAR score of 99.50 or above and elect to enroll in undergraduate Business programs. Students are required to submit an application to the UTS Scholarships Office on or before 1 December, 2009. Successful applicants will be contacted via email on 18 December, 2009 and offered a conditional scholarships offer that must accepted on or before 4 January, 2010.

Vice-Chancellor's Indigenous Undergraduate Tuition Fee Scholarships
UTS offers 6 Vice-Chancellor's Indigenous Undergraduate Tuition Fee Scholarships, to recognise academic excellence in the final year of school. These scholarships cover HECS fees for the duration of the course.

Equity Scholarships

Equity Scholarships assist students from low socio-economic backgrounds with costs associated with higher education.

Institution Equity Scholarships (IES) & Commonwealth Scholarships (CS) for Indigenous students
UAC provides a centralised application service for all participating institutions.

New scholarships for 2010
In the May 2009 Budget, the Australian Government announced a package of changes to student income support including changes to CS. The Government has produced fact sheets about two new CS:

  • Student Start-up Scholarship
  • Relocation Scholarship

  • These scholarships will be administered by Centrelink. Students will not have to apply – if they are eligible, Centrelink will pay them direct.
