New Vet Science Facility Opened at Charles SturtThe Kay Hull Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the University’s South Campus in Wagga Wagga was opened on Tuesday 20 April. The building has been named after the retiring Federal Member for Riverina , Kay Hull, who " has been a dedicated and proud advocate for Charles Sturt University, including in the development of our veterinary science program for almost 10 years when it was an idea right through until the unveiling of our latest purpose-built teaching facility in 2010," said CSU Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Ian Goulter.
The hospital provides both first opinion services for animal owners as well as medical referral services for veterinarians in Wagga Wagga and the surrounding region. As the final purpose-built veterinary science teaching facility opened by the University, the Veterinary Teaching Hospital will provide valuable clinical training for students in the three final years of their six-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at CSU. The senior students will be exposed to, and receive experience in, the diagnosis and treatment of small animals, under the direct supervision of CSU veterinarians.
The $3.3 million building includes five consulting rooms; separate foyer for dog and cat waiting area; pharmacy; laboratory; radiology and ultrasound rooms; large preparation and treatment area with custom designed treatment tables; dog and cat wards; dentistry area; isolation dog and cat facilities; and internal and external dog runs. The facility will also include referral surgery areas supported with a preparation room, intensive care unit, sterile room, and scrub area. The building also has teaching, seminar and office spaces for students, veterinarians and CSU staff. In house accommodation facilities for the on-call students, veterinarians and CSU staff will support 24-hour monitoring of the animals and emergency services.

KPMG CadetshipsKPMG is a leading provider of audit, tax and advisory services and offers industry insight to help organisations negotiate risks and perform in dynamic and challenging business environments.
Each year they offer career opportunities to school leavers through KPMG’s Cadetship Recruitment program in our Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth offices. It’s a way of working and studying towards a professional career simultaneously and opens the door to exciting and rewarding opportunities with one of the world’s leading professional services firms.
If you’re a year-12 student, school’s almost out for the final time. You’ll soon be making important choices about your further education and preferred career path.
KPMG’s Cadetship Recruitment Program is an option worth considering. Here’s how it works.
- A cadetship placement is available to students intending to study for a commerce or business degree majoring in accounting or information systems.
- It involves working full time and studying part time for the first 2 years. KPMG helps with substantial study leave and time off to attend lectures.
- In the third and fourth years, a cadet attends university full time and works during vacations. Vacation income is supplemented by a weekly allowance.
- Cadetships are offered only by our Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth offices.
Some offices offer a different program structure. Under this structure, cadets study full time from February to June of each year. From July to January they work full time and study part time. Study leave and allowances are similar to the first program structure.
Under both programs, cadets will commence permanent full-time employment with KPMG on graduation.
Applications for the 2011 Cadet Program for Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney opened on 3 May 2010.
Sydney closing date 23rd June
Brisbane closing date 17th June
The recruitment process starts as soon as applications are submitted and will continue until the application close date or until all available positions have been recruited to, whichever comes first. For this reason you should apply as early as possible to ensure the best chances of success.
