NSW. 2444  Welcome to the new Port Macquarie High School Careers site. This site is hosted by MHS Careers, which has excellent links to other careers sites, state based career information updates, and a careers event calender. You can register your email address with MHS to receive regular career updates to your own email account. This service is available to all members of our school community - students, parents and staff. Additionally, it contains our own Port High page which I will update with more local careers news regularly. Students should also note that I will also be emailing them with relevant information from time to time. If you have not been active with your school email account, then do check it regularly. This will be particularly important for Year 12 students, who will be confronted with a large number of opportunities that may require application with strict closing dates. Forthcoming Events. Defence Force Recruiting Presentation. Years 10,11,12. Period 3, Thursday Feb. 25th. in the Library. Interested students must pre register in the Careers Office. Latitude Global Volunteering Presentation. Yrs 11 and 12, interested students. Lunch 1, Friday 19 March, Room L24. Regional Universities Roadshow, A joint presentation by Charles sturt, Southern Cross and New England Universities. Period 4, Wednesday 31 March, in the Library. Interested Year 11 and 12 students welcome. Responsible Educated New Tenants ( RENT) Program. A 3 day course in school holidays for prospective tenants about rights, responsibilities and more with respect to leasing. Includes morning and afternoon teas, and is free. Certificate provided on completion , which may assist in giving credibility with agents. A good idea for Year 12 and independent students, or those thinking of becoming independent. See me for further details. Later in the year there will be other events including visits to UNE, University of Newcastle, and our very own Expo.
