These free pre-vocational courses are available for unemployed youths and school leavers wishing to learn skills in the Painting & Decorating or Signage industries and enter the workforce.
The courses are 9 weeks, four days a week and provide participants with up to one year’s credit from their
off-the-job training when they commence a related apprenticeship.

This full time program will start on 3rd October 2011 at Lidcombe TAFE for 4 weeks (5 days a week) with additional learning from home until March 2012.

Australian Defence Force Academy Education Award

The Australian Defence Force Academy Education Award is presented annually to Year 12 students in recognition of leadership potential, and academic and sporting achievements exhibited during Year 11.
The award comprises of a laptop computer and certificate for you, along with a plaque of recognition for your school.
There are up to 100 awards available on behalf of the Navy, Army and Air Force which will be presented to suitable applicants who have applied for entry to ADFA.
The ADFA Education Award is unbonded, which means there is no obligation to accept an offer to attend ADFA, nor is the ADF obliged to offer appointment to an award winner.

If you are in Year 11 and considering applying to go to ADFA in 2013 now is the best time to start your application.
You can apply at 16 years of age, with parental or guardian consent.


CIT Forensic Science Research Showcase

Wednesday 30 November 5.30pm – 9.30pm, A022 lecture theatre CIT, Bruce Campus.

The showcase is an opportunity for prospective students interested in studying the Bachelor of Forensic Science (Crime Scene Examination) to see research projects from graduating students presented to the wider CIT community and our industry partners. Graduating students will give 20 minute presentations showing the highlights of their research and the application to forensic science.
During the evening light refreshments will be served and prospective students are able to talk with senior people from the forensics industry as well as graduating students.

Canberra Institute of Technology presents CIT Momentum 2011

A creative industries showcase event for Canberra.

Over eleven creative disciplines and over 300 CIT students will combine and collaborate to produce an innovative and engaging event program spanning both day and night. The three day celebration will highlight an emerging range of student work representative of all departments including: fashion, music, visual arts, digital media, graphic design, photography, media, communication, interior design, building design, architectural drafting and 3D animation.

This event will give secondary students an opportunity to meet CIT students, ask questions about their area of interest and enjoy the work exhibited and showcased by students from the Centre for Creative Industries.

School group tours will be held every day with CIT staff and students on hand in each discipline and showcase space to take the students through the work on display and outline the study paths that enabled them to produce the work.

Equity Scholarships.
Equity Scholarships assist financially disadvantaged students with the costs associated with higher education.
Equity Scholarships through UAC comprise:
Institution Equity Scholarships (IES). 
Commonwealth Scholarships (CS) for Indigenous applicants.
By submitting just one online application through UAC, students will be considered for all available Equity Scholarships for which they’re eligible.
The on-time closing date for applications is Friday 30 September 2011.
The final closing date for applications is Wednesday 30 November 2011.

The ATAR Enquiry Centre will be open from 15 to 31 December for students who have questions about their ATAR or UAC application.
